Why I specialise in Reflexology & Meditation
Reflexology and Meditation have something in common which resonates with me, and my way of helping people. Reflexology as a therapy, or meditation as a regular wellbeing practice, are both perfect for helping us to rest, relax and restore wellbeing, helping us to return to a state of balance and harmony; physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.
I use reflexology and meditation to help my clients. They choose whichever they feel most suited to, and we take it from there. Some of them choose to make both a regular part of their wellbeing routine. I’ve been making meditation easy to learn, and enjoyable to do since 2015.
My background
Before I began working professionally in complementary healthcare, I worked for the NHS providing mainstream healthcare; nursing in hospitals, then as a care worker in the private sector, then after taking a break to follow a creative career I returned briefly as a healthcare advisor for the North East Ambulance Service.
A lot has changed since I first started in the NHS at the age of 18. These days the NHS recommends reflexology as a complementary health therapy. Mindfulness meditation has also become widely used as a wellbeing therapy. Not bad considering it started out thousands of years ago as a humble meditation practice, designed to help everyday people deal better with the stresses and frustrations of their time!
Giving you personalised support, every step of the way
I’d love to welcome you to my therapy room
Whether you’d like reflexology, or to learn how to meditate, I’m here to look after you and offer you personalised support, every step of the way. Whether it’s helping you to feel more relaxed and revitalised, reduce stress and anxiety, improve your sleep, or helping you with a specific health & wellbeing issue that’s affecting your life in some way, I’m here for you. If you come for reflexology, your treatment will be tailored to your needs.
If you’re coming for meditation, I can help you learn how to meditate, even if you do have a head full of thoughts. I’ve been making meditation easy to learn, and enjoyable to do since 2015. We can also connect using the magic of the internet, which allows you to learn how to meditate from the comfort of your own home.
Health and wellbeing challenges
I genuinely do understand and relate to how it feels when your going through a tough time physically, mentally or emotionally. My health and wellbeing wasn’t always as balanced as it is now. In my past, I’ve had my share of issues, from overcoming depression, anxiety and chronic stress (and it’s health depleting impacts), right through to being seriously unwell with Crohn’s disease, to recovering, and then learning how achieve remission, and to stay in good health.
The wellbeing challenges I went through helped me learn more about myself, my mind, and my body. They also steered me towards embracing meditation as a spiritual and wellbeing practice, which then lead me towards the path for training in complementary health therapy to become a holistic therapist.
I know from experience that when your wellbeing is out of balance, it can affect everything; from your sleep, to your relationships, to your work, and your outlook on life. I feel that everything I’ve gone through has helped to contribute to me becoming a holistic therapist who can genuinely relate to my clients, and support them, while always having their best interests and wellbeing at heart. I’m also an advocate of people using both mainstream and complementary healthcare, because together they can work wonders.
